I think they are pre 92 but I really want them to be post 92. It seems the perch at the top of the front spring is too small? or am I crazy?
Are they missing the datecode on the last spring and that makes them pre 92?
:confused

I did they are 29824 but are they 29824-1(pre) or 29824-2(post)
They have the same part number on the spring

The cutoff is June of 1992. If they are post 92 then they will be stamped ab.bj.22.06.92 and/or 29824-2

Yes the upper (and lower?) perches are different diameters.

You can still use a complete strut/spring/topmount for 6/92- on a -5/92 chassis if you want to replace all parts.

Is this true? I got the pre versions. Were the strut towers the same.

The entire chassis is the same on all e36 models, including the M3, but except the z3 rear. You can swap in an M3 struts if you want, as long as you get the complete strut.

The chassis's are all the same, I had an early set-up on one side of my 98 but like granlund said you need the entire assembly.

Running pre-June of '92 struts is actually a better way to go on any E36. Then you can use drop links from the strut to the bar like M3s, rather than the bar to control arm like non-Ms.
