I know their are a few people out there running boosted m30's and others with various bolt-ons. what are your opinions on engine management options as well. the options are a chip or The MS plug and play. I am also looking at a cam. I am not sure if boosting a m30 is really worth it. Any Input would be greatly appreciated.

Define "worth it". This is a hobby, not an investment.

How much power do you think you want? How deep are your pockets ?

Do some searching, you'll find more than enough information to make a choice where you want to go.

I understand it's a hobby... I want the most for my dollar though. My pockets are not shallow, but they have a bottom. I wouldn't mind putting another 5-10k in to it.. so far I have a 11lb flywheel, manual swap, coilovers, new wheels and tires, plus a ton of general maintenance. I'd like to have 300+ whp or so.

The cheapest way to get appreciable smack out of an M30 is positive pressure. Some gains can be found with headwork and a cam. I suggest you sell a kidney and call Paul Burke. He's the man, but you will pay. He helped put together Lucifers' Hammer...which is a 700+ hp S38 car.
