Some dam motorists kicked up a rock and it hit me right between the eyes, left a gaudy crack. If it was anywhere else I might deal with it for a while, but Considering it's smack Dab in the middle of my face I need that fixed ASAP.

What's a nice price for a brand new windshield installed. I have a friend in the automobile glass business. Quoted me 150 for everything, new trim ext....opinions?

There are different grades of glass.. you probably won't be happy with the low grade which I'm sure is what he's priced you. Also, the trim is most likely a generic, and won't work, or look right. The correct trim is over 100 a side I believe.

Isn't it like 300 from BMW?

What Grade of glass do our vehicles come with? Is the after market trim something I should definitely avoid? Maybe I buy a used one and just have him install

Actually I recently priced it f rom the local BMW Dealer at around $50 a side in actuality.. I was encouraged.

I had no idea there are different grades of glass... can any installer get it if you ask or do you need to get it from BMW? Mine is severely pitted/sandblasted..

I assume the better glass is substantially more resistant to pitting?

Didn't Sekurit get bought out?

I had mine replaced for free including the trim. Part of my full glass coverage. Insurance will usually replace the glass if it gets pitted enough to be a safety issue.
