I purchased a Staggered "2012 X5 M" Wheel & Tire set that was taken off the Vehicle because the new owner upgraded his New X5 M to an aftermarket 22" Rims immediately after he bought the Vehicle.

I bought that 2012 X5 Wheel & Tire Staggered 20" as a package and installed it in my 2008 X5 3.0i.

Car runs smooth and everything (drive-wise) is fine but the TPS is now reading "TPS MALFUNCTION". It won't let me reset it and I even took my Vehicle to "Bell Tire" (A different tire shop here) and had them use a tool to sense the TPS and all 4 tires came out with EXCELLENT readings within 3 seconds of that tool close to the tire.

That shop couldn't help me and referred me to the Dealer. I don't wanna go there because of distance and hourly labor.

Please HELP if you've run into this problem before.
Thanks

Your problem is the tpms themselves. Late model 2009 (not sure if it is the exact year) and up use the rde 012.....while your model uses the rde 008.

Thanks for responding. So are you saying that I have to buy a comparable TPMS or get the ones out of my old tires?

the cheaper route would be to have the tire switch out your tpms from your old wheels and tires into your new ones.

Had the old TPMS pulled out from the tire and into the new rims and all is well. Thanks a lot BrokeMyWallet!

Glad I can help. I'll take the old tpms as payment ;)......
