Hi I was just wondering what would be the best tire size for my car to achieve a "mild stretch" look... I drive a 2000 e39 540i6 and the wheels that are being mounted are ESM LM reps sized:

19x8.5 et20 front
19x9.6 et25 rear

I was thinking:
225/35/19 fronts
265/30/19 rears

What do y'all think? Would that be too much or too less??? :help

Thanks all in advance

Well, a 225 tire is roughly (depending on brand for exact measurment) 225mm, which equals to 8.85 inches wide. Not really a stretch.

And 265mm equals 10.43 inches, really not a stretch.

Best thing to do in your case is look at people whos wheel/tire set up you like and see what they are doing, including tire brands.

Hmmm I never really understood what those numbers (265/225...) really meant... And now it's all so dang clear now... LOL thanks for the super fast and easy to understand explanation... :-D all I need to know now is how to understand "offsets" LOL

The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel, measured in mm's.

I run 17x9 all round and run 205/40 on the front and 215/40 on the rear.. Alot of stretch but never gad issues with them popping off the beading

On my 18x8.5 RC I run a 215/35 Neo Geo tire and its a baby stretch.
On my 17x9 RF I run a 205/40 Federal tire and the stretch is more evident.
