Ok finally an end to drivability issues with my car. The short. It threw oxygen sensor errors. Replace with generic Bosch. Problem solved. It then threw errors for knock sensors. The engine harness runs through the center of the intake disa system. Pulled it all. Figured i would replace every piece of rubber i could because of everyones else having vacuum and coolant problems. Put back together and cleaned idle air control valve. Put back together and threw oxygen sensor code. Replaced sensor again. No more errors. Wouldn't idle. Drove it hard and it started running good but periodic idle problems. Bought fog machine for dj systems. Rigged it to a funnel to get hose on it. Fogged engine ten times and found one small leak where intake boot connects to throttle body. Tightened the crap out of it. By the way i used a styrofoam cup with a holw in it to seal the tube from the fog machine. Worked perfect.
Put it all back together. No other leaks. Runs like new. No amount of ac or accessories running affects the idle. Car probably picked up ten or fifteen horse. Accelerates to redline very linear and is a whole new car. What a pain. The rubber boot on the throttle body was brand new. I cant believe how much i had to tighten it but that was the vacuum leak. Probably the reason for my oxygen sensor trouble too. What a pain.
