but the clearance between my coilover and the wheel is whats scaring me.. i might run a 225/40/17 on it

So why run so wide a wheel and then such a narrow tire? You do mention a 17X10 but no offset on the wheel. You would have to do some work to make the wheels and tires fit. I would say negative camber and the fender mods. The narrowest tire I would put on the 17X10 would be a 255/40R17. Otherwise why not just use a 17X9 if you want to use a 225 width.

The picture is with a 1 5/8 spacer, I do not know the offset but it was cleared with a 10mm between the shock in front and the rear needs to be flared or pulled. I would maybe run a 225/45 or something bigger, just wanna make sure these will not cave in n rub the suspension when I lower the car down with a tire on it.

Without knowing the offset nobody will be able to tell you if they are going to rub on the inside. A 225/45R17 on a 17X10 is way beyond stretched. They fit up to a 17X8.5 safely. On a 17X10 the 225/45R17 I would say would be unsafe.

Whats the best way I can measure the offset? I tried contacting ARE but they're no help. All I found is that they are ARE type 328 17x10.X 5x120.6

It should be stamped on the back side of the wheel. ET and a 2 digit number

I checked the back and nothing :/ I was told I can measure from the hub to the edge of the outter wheel, is that true?

Could I possibly take it to a shop a tire location so they can measure it?

You can but I am not sure they are going to want to do it. You can measure from the mounting plate to the back of the wheel. That measurement is the back space. From there I can figure the offset with the width of the wheel.

you Have 10mm of clearance between the rim and the strut?
Put a 235 40 on it and enjoy your new wheels. You're not gonna hit, and the strut and wheels do not flex or bend.

Only one way to know for sure dude - measurements time!! Get out there with a measuring tape :p
That said, from my understanding pretty much anything will fit if you're down for some fender pulling/camber..
