Okay so i just wanna know if my rims are actually toast.

So bought some nice ASA AR1 18 x 8 last summer finally got around to shelling out 400, to get the lip polished an getting them in some nice tires. Now a week later, im reversing beside a curb all i feel is my lip rubbing against the curb :'( and note, i was going under 8km probably not even that fast, just above rolling speed. I did climb it a bit

Now its literally on the very edge of the lip. Not even the face of the lip but the very edge that would stick out if were to run stretched tires. So now the lip is jagged, but only visible up close. So i brought it back to the same guys that polished my rims, because they also fixed a couple bends and curbages already on the rim, and now they say the rim is irreparable.

Now can someone please tell me if this makes any sense? The bend my rim had when i first had them literally had the lip noticeably flat and they fixed it fine, but now when i curb my rim going under 8km they say its irreparable. The guy said something along the lines of, it being wobly when they put it on their machine, as if the rim wouldnt spin straight on their mahine.

TL;DR Curbed my rim going just above rolling speed under 8km, apparently irreparable is it possible?

Should i try my luck and go to a different shop and have them look at it?

Its amazing that i have searched google and theres nothing but repair threads and diys, but not whether if the rims actual integrity was damaged not just the lip it self.
