1984 Euro M6 help fellow owners

Just bought a 1984 Euro M6, could someone please email me that has a 84 or 85? I need to pick your brains about parts.

Your car is actually known as a M635csi. There are slight differences between the M635 and the M6. The big difference is the compression ratio. This and the lack of a catalytic converter on the euro models made for a 30 hp difference between the Us and Euro versions.

If I remember correctly, the euro motor was a single roller and the US a double roller timing chain. There are also a few other differences that I can't seem to remember.

Single Coil Valve springs on the Euro M as opposed to the doubles on the American Version.

THe comp ratio and engine management too were the reason for 30 more hp. 10.5:1 vs. 9.5:1 (chipping a Euro car, gets you like 3 -5 hp or something sad like that )

THe American car was detuned somewhat for emissions too.

So what do we tell autohausaz when we order parts? Do we tell them a 1984 M635? Is there any cars we can get stuff from cheaper than buying M parts? I hear buying M parts is very expensive. However I have also been told that you can get most of your parts from other cars and not be raped on the price.

The clutch is out in the car and I need to order parts to replace it and autohausaz does not know what parts will fit it.

Try Pacific BMW. Use their wholesale parts line. Tell them it is a Euro M635.

Ok My car was built in 84 but the title says 85 so do we go by 85? What do you guys suggest for intake, exhaust, cam?

My 81 Euro 635 CSI with a 1989 M50 motor just stomps my M635. Yes a lot has been done to the 81 but I really should have more power.

Also where do I go to get the right repair manual for this car?
