Gentlemen:
A neighbor has just given me a good offer on my current 740i "Tomorrow Never Dies" car replica which I have put a lot of work in to get to show condition. (Some of you may have seen it at Bimmerfest two weeks ago at the organizer booth with all of the gadgets out, or seen the picture of me with the hidden driver parade suit on FAILBLOG).
I've spent a huge amount of money over the last four years to get my current car in excellent mechanical condition in preparation for the cross-country charity rally "The Fireball Run".
The only reason I would consider selling my current car is if I can get or build a similar E38 for the same selling price so I don't have to go through the hassle of re-painting my car to the correct Aspen silver metallic when I get ready to move into the permanent modification/drilling phase of the gadget build and get the sliding bumper to work in the next year or two.
I have a top dollar offer on my car, so I am willing to pay top dollar for the right replacement car.
The right car is:
- Aspen Silver Metallic (not negotiable)
- Full set of genuine BMW M-Parallel wheels (or $1000-1500 off the total budget to buy a set)
- Under 130K miles, or a stack of service receipts showing the car has had plenty of preventative maintenance (a complete cooling system replacement like my current car is preferable)
- Good cosmetic condition without any dents or scratches other than usual parking lot idiot scrapes
- CA car with good smog history or car with both catalytic converters replaced with OEM quality replacements to ensure no hassle with CA smog.
- Black interior preferred, but grey is acceptable
- V12 is preferred, but V8 is acceptable
- Long wheelbase is preferred, but short wheelbase is acceptable
- MK3 or better GPS with 4:3 screen (I have a spare 4:3 screen if you have the 16:9 upgrade) preferred
- Pre-facelift cars preferred to match the film, but I'll take one of the later VANOS versions if the situation is right.
The only bits that my current car doesn't have from this list is the paint color and interior color.
I am looking to buy in the next 1-2 months. If you have a car to sell, shoot me an email.
