Hey guys, just sold my m3 and picked up an 03 M5. However the car has a few small issues. First thing I want to fix is this annoying noise coming from the front end (passanger side) when cutting the wheel,stopping and taking off. It even does it on the lift. I can't figure out what it is. I checked the control arms, they don't seem lose.
Here's the video;

TIA!

Sounds like a hard bushing or fitting. See if you can take a device to listen for the noise source. If it makes the same sound whole loading and/or unloading (do each side separately) the problem is arm bushings.

What you're doing is correct: feeling all the steering joints. You s/b able to feel the dry/damaged joint.

Honestly, I can't feel where it's coming from even when im touching it. It does it all the time. No matter the car is on the lift or not.

Can you hear it from the steering linkage? How about a strut mount/bearing?

Using an automotive stethoscope might help you narrow it down.
How about if you spray some of that wd-40 at each joint one at a time?

it kind of looked like you have urethane bushings in the thrust arm. If so pull the bolt and lube them with copper based never sieze.

I have a very similar sound but it only occurs when the car is hot. In the morning or in cool weather, it will not make the noise. On a hot day or after a bunch of city driving, I get the noise.
Any updates would be appreciated.
