Must be... I don't see anything else, then again that cap looks way too awesome to be for a silly wiper bottle lol!

Yea that's what Muai and I ment! He was referring to the picture he quoted in post #10 (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24426218&postcount=10)! Nevertheless it's pretty cool how different our cars are!

Jamie, what CAI do you have there?
jamie123
05-31-2012, 02:03 AM
ah sorry my bad, the cai is a kit called a dave f,it uses a large k&n,you might not of heard of them in the states but over here they are well known and sought after for the e36,he doesnt make them any more.

I'm casually looking for a decent CAI, that is why I ask.
Your car is sweet!

thank you,the key incase you dont know is the heat shield,if your making your own i can measure my k&n for you if you like.

Thanks mate, I already have a somewhat cobbled heat-shield. It started as a CAI for the S52 years ago...
I'm looking for a decent looking and efficient CAI w/o breaking the bank.

looks sweet jamie, just like mine (except mine has black leather)
for those asking, the washer fluid reservoir is actually in the front bumper!
maui - ive had a couple different CAI's on the euro and would probably tell you not to bother. at the moment ive got the Simota (Gruppe M replica) & it sounds great but doesn't really add to any noticeable performance gains. for the price they aren't really worth it

If any of you guys want to sell a fellow member a stock airbox for a 3.2L Id take it :)

That is what I'm leaning towards. I'm running a MAF and don't buy into the CAI sales pitch as a HP producer.

I'll let you know if that's a possibility. Will run a full cf airbox and no maf.

there are definate hp gains with the dave f kit,its been covered before over on m3cutters.com,i noticed a difference, even more so when i added the rubber boot trim to the top of the heat sheild to seal it in,as i said before you really need to stop as much hot air getting to it as possable.
i also have a cold air feed from the brake duct inlet going right up to the underside of the k&n.

Ahh, m3cutters is a great site! There's plenty of euro e36 related info over there :) I fixed my part throttle hesitation/stumbling because of that forum!

I just picked one up while on vacation. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Neither do I:shifty Im 17hp short of my P.O's dyno'd 284whp & the only difference was his awesome exhaust setup and the cf intake. There's noway a $3k airbox is worth even +17hp imo.... But even still im pretty sure I can squeeze at least half of that difference w/ an exhaust that flows better than stock.

The reservoir is neatly tucked in the right corner of the front bumper bar.

You can also add Australia to your wish list.:)

Good to hear. The SMG system, although not perfect, and what is anyway, is a great way to enjoy all that raw naturally aspired power only a real M3 can offer. It is best suited to the S50B32 if you know how to use it. It is a very rewarding and exhilarating experience. Also, The SMG system actually takes better care of the gearbox unlike traditional manuals where missed gear crunches and money shifts will cost a fortune in potential repairs.
Most owners who source replacement gearboxes for original manual cars will often look for SMG equipped vehicles for their transmissions.
Couple of very minor mods and your a winner :buttrock
