View Full Version : NGK R5671A-9 plug gap, 15-20psi TRM built motor?

Just curious where should I gap these plugs? I measured 0.024" off the plugs I removed from this engine which were not that old (not worn). Got a bit of an ignition breakup in the higher revs under boost. I've read as low as 0.018" from some people here, just making sure... TIA.

What kind of torque is it making? Spark blowout at 20psi? Why such a cold plug? -9 is colder than most use.

I run .018" on 8s with no spark issues up to 26psi fwiw.

0.026" on 7/8's w/ no issue to 32 psi

I'm running .020" on -8's @ 22psi. -9's are WAY too cold for that application.
