Ok so my speedo reads 4 mph faster than what my aftermarket GPS says. The tires are the same as OEM so that's not the issue. Does anyone else have this problem? Does that mean that my odometer is actually reading more miles than what is really on the car? Is there an easy fix to take care of this crap? The car is a '09 328xi with 30K miles.

I know I can just drive 4 mph faster but a $40K car that is advertised as "the ultimate driving machine" that's just bull ****!

Mine is the same way. I have a 2011 335i xdrive. My car says 80 and the gps says 75.

The speedometers in these cars are intentionally set to read higher than actual speed. Don't ask me why, but it's the same with my Toyota truck. The odometer however should still be accurate.

Please watch the language and do a search, this has been explains a bazillion times already. If you want an accurate speedo, do not buy German. German law necessitates that the speedo never under reports the speed regardless of equipped tires, pressure, etc. Use a GPS if you cannot do the math.

Read you're manual. It's completely normal.

Watch my language? What did I type that is offensive?
I did do a search and came up with no results. Sorry if it's been explained a bazillion times...make that a bazillion and one times now.
One more thing...what makes you think I can't do the math?
Thanks for the warm welcome & warning. I guess what I've heard about some BMW owners being jerks is true.

Sorry but nowhere in my manual does it mention the speedo being off by 4 or 5 mph.
