Check oil light

I have a 2000 528i sport... The check oil light comes on whenever I drive the car hard. It comes on after I turn the engine off. Check... it seems to be fine. How exact are the lines on the dipstick? is it ok to overfill a little to see if I can remedy this problem?

Do you let the car cool down a bit before shutting the engine off? After hard driving, you should let the engine run at idle or below 2K rpm for a bit before shutting it off.

Some recommend adding a bit over before hard driving. Run a search here on Oil Froth or something ...

The oil pressure sensor may be faulty or have a loose wire. Overfilling a little will be fine.
