Another trunk badge poll... M-sport content

My car is an M-sport. I am pretty sure these cars came from the factory with a standard 540i trunk badge, although I have been told that some dealers removed them and put M badges on them.

My car came to me with an M badge and I have not removed it as of yet, but I have been thinking about it. Should I keep it, remove it and put nothing back (debadged) or replace it with the original chrome 540i badge?

...and the final option, replace it with a mat black 540i emblem?

BTW, my car is white!

Personally If I had a white e34 I would debadge it entirely on the trunk unless it was a true m5

Debadge now! if its not an m, it doesn't deserve the m logo. I say keep the trunk lid clean.

Do whatever you like best. It's really only your opinion that matters. Canada got the m540s with the M badge. Personally, I'd debadge it all together.

I chose de-badge... Not because it is not worthy, but because I prefer the clean look. FWIW, my car came with at least 5 M badges from the factory!; M Door sills, M lighted shift knob (well, it's actually a tri-color M-stripe)... etc.

Your car is definitely worthy of the badge, but unless the m if followed with a single digit it just visually looks wrong.

Maybe a gunmetal grey 540i badge would be cool.

Pat, on your car, I would definately do the shadowlined 540i emblem! I was thinking about doing the same to mine when I took the M off, but it looked Sooooooo clean that I left it off completely....

I'm tossed, I have a clean slate. I think I'm gonna throw it on for now. I've been running debadged for a few years. It should be hardly noticeable and only noticed by those in the know. :dunno

Mine got pressure washed off by the PO I believe and has just a faded remnant of the sticker under the hood.

You could have left it. You actually have a justification to have it, since its m sports.
But do whatever you like, I would personally stick the 540i badge on.

Debadged is the way to go, like my Sterling M5.

Badges are such an American thing, since we're all so shallow and only about appearances.
