Wel if I' gonna tell you some I might as well tell you everything. I've been on the forums for only a few months but I've been a fan of BMWs since long before I can remember. But I'm only 19 so I suppose that's a good thing. My best friend and I have always wanted to work on cars. We've also always loved BMWs. So he and I decided that we would build a bimmer as our car to drive whenever we are hanging out. The reason we chose a BMW is because we didn't want to make a ricer ugly heap and race it. It'll be our multi purpose cruiser car. Our dilemma however is what we want to build. Its between the e30 coupe and the e34 touring. He wasn't so sure on the touring until I showed him. I've made a believer!!! :redspot

So I would really like a touring because they are a dying breed and because I have seen a few around town that need to be restored to their former glory. And that is our goal. Some tasteful mods but nothing outrageous.

That being said I want your opinions. We have a budget of $1500 to start with and know of many e30 coupes under that price but of only 1 touring which I want to take away from the previous owner (who I want to slap) because its not aesthetically pleasing. Our plan is to do a 5 speed swap somewhere in the near future. Thanks for your input :buttrock

as much as I like my E34 touring, the 318i is a better deal.

that touring is just fucking ruined.

My thoughts exactly. That's kind of why I wanted to get it. SO it can go back to normal. Its sickening how bad they've made it.

i would say 318 as well. The fact that the touring is to the point of being flat black, I can't imagine what the rest of the car looks like. Also going with the 318 will give you some extra cash to tag the vehicle and make it drivable. I'm not sure if all tourings have the self leveling suspension, but fixing or replacing those parts will be $$$ not to mention the paint, flat black will get old very quickly lol

My 525i does not, but it doesn't even have fog lights either.

Alright. Sounds good to me. The 318ik just seems like its too good to be true almost but I think that's a better reason to leap at it. Maybe eventually we can trade up into a touring. Hopefully they won't be too rare by then. Thanks for the opinions.
