this member bought a car from me in december and failed to transfer it into his name and sold it from his lot to another person who has neither insured nor registered it in their name either. for whatever reason, the DMV does not have my release of liability and the car continues to be registered in my name. i received a toll-road violation that was incurred by someone else after my ownership that i cannot prove i am not liable for and is pending going to collections. brad's number has changed and he is no longer replying to my PMs. if anyone knows him personally, i need to sort this out ASAP. i cannot have someone driving an uninsured car in my name.

Do you have a Bill of Sale for the transaction?

because the car was shipped, i sent my signed copies with the car. he never returned mine. i guess that was a mistake on my part, but he seemed like a solid guy.

Mike, goto the DMV and tell them you sold the car X amount of months ago. Or say the car was stolen lol and get it back.

Do you have any docs from the shipping? That would support a claim on your part that the car was sold and to who.

Holy wombat balls, Miguel! Please tell me you are joking about not keeping a copy of your "release of liability" form that you turned/mailed in when you sold the car?!?!

If not, start gathering any and all paperwork/email transactions that covered the course of the sale. Have as much evidence as you can muster to show the sale of the car.

the car was sold on ebay by brad and i have no information on the current owner. i still cannot get a hold of him to sort this out, and am now stuck with collections taking my money.

beware of this member.
