A word of advice: If you intend to pursue this course of modification in earnest, don your flame suit.

IMHO cutting 0.5-1.0 coil stiffens the car up without compromising the ride too much (unless your entire drive to work is made out of speed bumps or hobos sleeping in the street).
I have taken up to one coil out of stock springs, H&R and eibach springs. Anything more than that just doesn't leave enough travel and you will be bouncing off the bumpstops and blowing shocks. I have bought 2 e34's with springs cut (probably 1.5-2.5 coils removed) and both of them handled like ass....big sloppy 42 year old cellulite ass.

Of course not! Must be springs too tall.

If you take out the bulky interior and eliminate your heavy battery by wiring the alternator into the engine and adding a crank start then the car will have less weight to depress the stock shocks. Works. Oh and only run 1/4 tanks.

Don't take the cheap way out. get lowering springs and shorten the strut housings AT LEAST. if not, get coils, they're not that expensive

Why would you say that MaxSteel I thought you went with NEX coilovers. I still want to know how yours lasted after the 38 page thread that really went no where with there durability.
