Hello everyone

I am having an issue with the Park light (P) indicator on the on-board computer of an 1986 Euro-spec M635CSi. It is on when I turn on the car, which is why the "CHECK" signal is blinking, and it stays on after pressing the "Check" button on the on-board computer.

Can anyone tell me what this means? The park light control light itself works fine, and so do the tail lights themselves. I cannot seem to find anything about that in the owner's manual.

Incidentally, my owner's manual is not in English; does anyone know where I can locate/download one in English? I have tried Ebay but had no success.

Thank you.

I for one am confused as I was not aware of any automatic M635s. Could the P be for your parking brake?? Please enlighten us to what you actually have. Have you tried tapping yopur brake pedal??

It is not an automatic. But it does have a "Park light (P)" item on the on-board computer, and it's on. Haven't really tried tapping the brake pedal...I can try that - what is that supposed to do?

Parking brake - I have thought of that, but engaging and disengaging the parking brake a couple of times does nothing. The parking brake light on the dashboard lights as it should and then goes off as it should as well.

You are getting two things confused here. When you turn the car on, the "Check" light comes on indicating that the "stop lights" (brake lights) warning is on in the "Active Check Control Panel" to the left of the steering wheel. Tap the brakes and they both will go off.

Tho Onboard Computer has nothing to do with any of the lights and is located in center console next to the radio

We need to know just what it is that you are talking about? Is it the "P" in the "PN123" lights at the bottom center of the cluster? But this is for the Automatics. Or does the Euro-Spec have an indicator for the little parking lights included in the running/turn signal light lenses? If so, where is it located?

+1. Parking lights are a good thought.

Yes that is the one. Sorry I thought the panel to the left is the onboard computer. Will check with the brakes.

What I was describing you accurately figured out above.

Tapping the brake pedal puts the light out, thanks guys :)
