I must admit, I've been struggling with this since yesterday. I've removed many driveshafts and never had this type of problem. I am replacing the CSB and guibo.

The driveshaft is disconnected from the transmission. The nuts (i think there are six) are removed from the bolts going into the final drive flange. The CSB is disconnected.

However, I cannot get it to come out of the final drive. I've tapped the bolts, yanked the driveshaft, soaked them in PB... I feel like there's something that I am missing.

I referenced the Bentley but it is not applicable to the M5 and my driveshaft is built differently and has different flanges than what is shown... but I know the general idea is the same.

What gives? :banghead:

It's just stuck, no tricks here, brute force is your friend.

That's what I thought... I'm just always afraid I'm going to damage something!

It's German, it understands force.

Try putting the nuts back on the studs and using a prybar against the diff housing
