need help with my rpm!

So i changed my valve cover gasket on my car (which was a pain) and put everything back together and started my car. It started with no problems but when i went to get gas from shell i stopped at a stop light was idling at almost 500 rpm and started to shake and sounded like it was going to die. What the hell is the problem or what could i do to fix it?

recheck all vacuum lines and connections in engine bay... if no luck, take car to BMW and have them read the fault(s) off the computer to try and pinpoint the issue

thanks! ya i just tightened up the oil filter housing because i tried to take that apart too a couple days ago and now it works fine!
