So I havn't bought hub centric rings from ebay since like 2004 and the ones I bought back then were crappy right out of the box and caused my car to shake like all hell. I need a set for my 6 series and hate having to order them from the overpriced douchesheds at Tirerack. Has anyone bought a set from ebay recently in which everything was ok and they were made properly? A link or seller would be great.
Thanks, Andrew

I prefer the metal ones... I've used plastic as well as metal, and the metal lasts longer.

I've had several sets of plastic ones break or crack or just not fit right. I've never had an issue getting metal ones from a reputable seller.

My plastic ones are cracked after one year. I will go metal next time.

The metal ones I went with back in 04 were the ones that were not thick enough.

Maxspeed is the seller of the ones I linked you to. Should be good to go, as they don't seem to be fans of a poor reputation.

so these are the correct rings for using e39 wheels on an e34? Just want to make sure because I am refinishing my style 5's and as soon as I popped them off the car the plastic rings disintegrated in my hands:embarrasm

Yes sir, sure are. I have them on my e39-fitment M-Par reps, and they're perfect.

He just declined another, I'm gonna start offering weird increments like $13.36 just to piss him off. I'm very bored today at the office if you can tell.

I've used tons of plastic and metal ones. I prefer the plastic ones as they tend to be a tighter fit (and even if they are too large they are minorly deformable.
I think the trick with the plastic ones is to put them 'in the wheel' not 'on the hub' and they won't crack.
I've had problems with metal ones being too thin- but that was only on one set years ago...I think someone made them out of a natty light can and scissors.
