Help! 96 328i changed oxgen sensor now car idles bad

I currently changed the oxygen sensor on my 96 328i and before it ran fine just changed it for emission but now it idles when im at a stop and somtimes lags in drive like it doesnt want to go almost like it is out of gas sometimes has small backfire what could possibly have went wrong

did you plug everything back together? Make sure all your connections are tight before anything else. That is usually the culprit.

i am going to do that now i figure it has to be somthing loose because it didnt do this until i replaced the o2 sensor i will keep ya posted thanks

Is the o2 sensor manufactured by Bosch? Or is it a Chinese knockoff?

This. A cheap off brand O2 sensor wont work properly. Make sure you got a Bosch one.
