The M3 has to be in the lead of course!!!
But, I am so stoked! It has every option but, NAV (which I actually I did not want -- call me crazy). It has SMG II, PDC, rear power sunshade, cold weather, harmon kardon, BMW alarm, BMW M3 trunk mat, Stonguard full protection including side mirrors, premium package, aluminum trim, rear dinan strut bar, width adjustable power seats, that lumbar thingy, bi-xenon headlights, and some other items that I am forgetting right now. It has 13,293 miles on it. The seller said he paid $62,750 for the vehicle. He said he sees maybe one M3 every month on the road, very rare around him.
He is purchasing a new 545i and getting rid of this. The interior is a different color that I have never seen in a titanium silver car. It has the cinnamon interior. I think it looks pretty cool, very unique and different. We'll see how people react when they see it in person.
SOOOOO excited. As for mods ... I am going to go about this the proper way: This upcoming weekend, I am taking it to the track (Summit Point) to get a feel for the car and how it handles. Plus, pop it's cherry! WOOHOO!
Then, I "might" do some things to it. I hear I can change the camber in the front with just the removal of a pin??? Not sure; but, should help with understeer and tire wear.
There are so many products out there for this car, I am going to be relying heavily on eastcoastbmw.net and the bimmerforums members here to assist me with suggestions and recommendations. Please don't tell me to do this and that. I do not want to add things that are unnecessary, e.g., I have never been fond of aftermarket rims. I like stock 18" rims. I made the mistake in my last two M3's of modding it without thinking, just for the sake of doing it ... I want to proceed in a proper fashion this time!
The M5 would have been nice; I did not want one so modded. I wanted a car that I could mod from the beginning and make the correct chioces. Plus, I could not pass this one up ... especially since it was optioned out VERY nicely. I have no idea about SMG II ... I was VERY impetuous about the purchase; but, every person that I spoke with that has SMG, said that people that bash SMG, don't own it, heheh ... They said they can rip apart a manual driver on a track/auto-x course.
WOOHOO!

Actually..........I have a E46 325. I can understand why you think I had an M3 because the 325's are almost as fast as the M3's. Also, I don't like to show off how much wealth I have....so I figured I would buy a car that doesn't attract A LOT of attention. Though, da bytcheZ still be hollarin at me. :D

In all seriousness though - are you going to autocross it, James? You and Ken can duke it out with identical cars ('cept his is a manual :) :) )

I'm signed up for Evolution I and II, I am also signed up for a full season with SCCA, and BMW auto-x school -- so, yeah, I guess I might be taken her for a spin on the auto-x course. Although, I'll still get my a$$ handed to me ... I'm nowhere near good ... give me a year to get better. Next year, we might be talking! ^__*
Can't wait to see how she will do at Summit ...
I'm just wondering how skid pad works with SMG though. I know both feet in with manual; but, what the heck do you do with the SMG ???

Nice ride James. Can't wait to get the Coupe next to you on the track. Or behind. Whatever. SMG is a joy on the track though. You shouldn't really have a problem on the skid pad, just need a little getting used to.

Thanks guys ... no way Regis, you are a better driver than me. Don't be humble or modest, I know my own limitations ... I am a better driver than I was a year ago; but, in no manner am I a good driver yet.
Plus, I am going to be babying her for the first couple of sessions. I am still learning how to do SMG. The car jerks back and forward at times ... plus, I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to brake, to stop and then downshift, or brake and downshift, etc ... I might need to find someone experienced with SMG to show me. The car feels very jerky right now to me ... so, not really 100% sure what I am doing wrong.
Yes -- I've never driven SMG before and didn't even drive it when it was bought. I sent a couple of my friends to go pick it up for me since I was busy at work. So, I've driven SMG now 3 times, lol. I might take off friday just to drive around and get a better feel of it ... Auto mode feels jerky, like it hesitates ... Plus, when I shift manually, it jerks a bit too ... it is better if I accelerate, briefly lift from the throttle, shift at the same time, and get back on it ... but, I've only driven SMG for like 30 miles now ...
Well, at least I will have brand new tires, just bought tires today from tirerack. I plus-sized them ... 245/40/18 fronts and 275/35/18 rears. I thought 245/40/17 tires were expensive  I look forward to Saturday and Sunday. This time, I will get a feeling of how the car can handle in stock form ... then, if my skills improve, start modifications that BENEFIT me, rather than just look good, make me faster, etc ... I want things to complement my skills ... if that makes sense...
p.s. -- it's NSUP4YU :)

see when we'll have time, I'll show you how to drive a SMGII on street smoothly. all you'll need to do is ease up the throttle a bit when shifting. also, may be I could give you a ride at summit on sunday....
Hey James-
Congrats on the new purchase!! The cinammon interior is really nice! One guy here at work has it but in a green car (I don't like the combo myself, personally).
You'll have to give me a ride in it!
Are you still going to get an E36 M3?
