 make sure to let me know how it pulls once it's up and running. My stroker's done but I have to wait to smog before I can drop it in.

Here in Texas people pay extra money to get their vehicle passed, which they run the test on another vehicle instead of yours, and enter your car in the computer. I've seen people do it at my work. I've never done it myself and I won't do it.

Gonna cross that bridge when I get there. Probably have a stock M50TU in the garage and hope the stroker passes smog. If it doesn't, I'll drop the 2.5 in for the test and then put the stroker back in. That's most likely my plan. Isn't CA great?

For the smog they really just look under to make sure u have cats, but if your cars lowered like mine:D they just say it has cats, and everything looks like a stock M50 on the outside, so it will pass visual, now for the sniffer i talked to a few guys running "hot" cams ect in e30s, and they said theres no problems with passing smog a few of them said they even got a better result with the stroker saying it runs cleaner, But next week i have a buddy who works for a CA smog station, and is going to run it for free to confirm for me if it will pass/fail.

Yea people around here do it to called "hot smogging" really popular around the ricer community, they just throw a stock car on the tester that is same make model, and just write if off as your car, but if you get caught its like 10 years in fed prison or something crazy like that......

I believe its a M54b30 crank with M52b30 Pistons, ill check tomorrow to be certain but im almost 100% sure thats what i used. i could have them mixed up though......

Agreed as E34 said. As long as you have all your emissions devices installed and it all looks factory with a proper tune for the 3.0 you shouldn't have any troubles passing.

No there isn't. There is an m52b28. But those pistons will come out of the bore 2mm.

Thank you for confirming this ! I am building one now, and the wheels in my brain started turning with the possibility of using m52 pistons !

When you get further into the build, make sure the cut the oil baffel in the oil pan, or else the crankshaft counter weights will smash it to S**T!!

I have read that, think maybe I will use the m54 oil baffle.
I was planning on using the m54 oil pump with custom oil tube.
Ahh gotcha, well I just got myn finished last night, and it pulls hard!!
