Was reading this:

I've got a minor rubbing issue in the front of my car, and it looks like a 5mm spacer will do...but after reading the above, I might want 12 mm to avoid lip extender, etc.?
My wheels are 8x18 et. 20, with 245/40/18 Bridgestones. The tires seem to rub the strut a tiny bit on full steering lock. Otherwise fine.

I'm was running a 245/40/18 on a 18x9" et24 with a 15mm spacer for a final of et9 with no rub at all. Based on those calculations you should be good to go with a 10mm spacer. Are you lowered at all?

You bet. Lowered on FK springs. That article from Turner basically says there is some kind of interference with the 10mm spacers that the 12mm one solves? Am I reading that right?

Briefly read the article, not too sure exactly what interference Turner is talking about (maybe the spring perch?), but being that your wheels are 18x8" you could still easily go with a 12mm spacer and have plenty of fender clearance too if you're concerned. Make sure that the spacers you purchase come with extended lug nuts, and good luck!
Whatever you do, get good quality spacers, not the cheap Ebay ones that come with cheap extended bolts. Terrible quality.

Cool. I am looking at the ones at Velocity Motorcars:

I like the idea of having a retaining scew so that I am not fumbling with them.

Yes. I was looking at the VAC and Turner hub extenders as well. Not necessary if you use a 12mm or larger spacer though since they have their own hubcentric extension.
