Just some feedback on the chip I put into my 540/6 conversion car. Its a 404DME, 1994 car. 3.15 diff, no cats.
He sent it out promptly and the chip showed up well packed and intact.
Car idled a bit goofy for a couple days but then settled in. Car needs to be cranked a bit longer now to get it started though. Everything else seems fine, no more hanging RPM on shifts. Have not tested the new rev limit, don't intend to (not on purpose anyway). It pulls smoothly, maybe a bit more part throttle power from 2k - 5k. Seems to be a more touchy when applying throttle from full throttle off, a bit annoying but my throttle linkage might be a bit in need of some lube so can't totally blame the new chip yet. Just didn't notice it before the swap.
All in all, worth the price just to get rid of the hanging issue. Too soon to tell if the mileage is affected much, but I can can say it has not gotten worse. Might even be better. I will need to do some proper consistant highway trips to know for sure.
I am satisfied with the results, might like it even more when I do the next fuel mileage calculation.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you're liking it.
I had another member on here with a chip of mine in his 740i E38, he noticed a 3mpg gain during 55-60mph freeway cruising. (mcallister)
Throttle response should be a bit more sensitive with a manual chip over the auto. Definitely adjust the throttle cable to spec, and replace the bushings for the cable with aluminum bushings if yours have ripped.
