Does anyone have this issue with their left and/or right bumber covers? They are warped and was wondering if anyone knows of a fix for these short of buying new at about 150-200 each!! Also, does anyone have a gap between their front spoiler and the bottom of the bumper? Is this normal or do I have some damage or can it be adjusted upward? Thanks.

I'm looking for new ones, but in the meantime we used a heat gun and glue to get them back in place and hold them there.

Just buy some good used ones, or convert to a different bumper style. You can't fix the warped rubber.

I had heard the warping was from the underlying metal rusting. I figured putting something like undercarriage paint on a new set might solve this.

No such luck, it is the rubber itself that warps and there is nothing that can be done.
Get a good used set or break down and get new.
I got a new right side and I need to order the other.

I really think it is the rust that causes this since I have gone through two sets here in New England and seem to find good used ones from Ca. I coated the hell out of the ones I just got with undercoating and will wait and see. I have not tried Bavarian Auto Recycle for these but they seem to have other bumper parts in good shape. Not sure the cost though.

There was no rust on my 535i when i bought it, but it has warped rubber. I thought it is from age and sun that the rubber expands and stretches.

I think that everybody has the issue with the US pre-world bumper. Given the prices of new parts, I am opting for world bumper conversion that will cost me about the same as getting new covers for diving boards.

Thanks guys. I have a couple of ideas I will try before buying but will buy used if at all possible. May look into world bumper conversion......
