Oil sensor inactive, even after replaced

My oil sensor started reading "Inactive" a couple months ago. So i finally ordered a new one from Tischer and replaced it this past weekend while doing an oil change. Then I reset the oil service indicator on the odometer.
The date for the service reset to a year from now, but the mileage still reads "500" instead of 15k and the sensor is still showing up as "inactive"
I even tried to disconnect the battery for 15 mins hoping this would reset the computer.

Is there something more I need to do?

Maybe it required reprogramming? Not sure though.

Had to get my water pump replaced and when the tech reset the obc the oil sensor started working again. So yes I guess it did require a reset. Thank you.
