I think I may have overpaid, I was looking for a low under 29,000 mile car, but found this one with 44,000 miles, CPO until 4/2015.....
I got it for $27,500 (basically they gave me $2,000 more on my trade)...
It got everything I wanted, Alpine white, black interior, and manual..

If you weren't from Cal, yes that's kinda high, but prices are higher there, aren't they? Don't get buyers remorse, be happy that you got a great car!

Thanks, I am having buyers remorse...
I was totally into getting a 2009 with 28,768 miles (not CPO), then I got the Carfax, the car came from New York (not a bad thing, but kinda strange it was there for 2 years and auctioned off then driven 3000 miles away), different sensors replaced, windshield replaced, and odometer problems, ultimately I looked at the car, it was beautiful, but something was not right with the smell of it?, and they were giving me $2,000 LESS for my trade.. and it wasn't CPO'd (I could have done that anyway).
I also was getting another beautiful one that I almost settled for, it was a "2008" for $28,900, with only 33,000 miles, alpine white with saddle brown interior. However, it was not CPO, and the warranty expired next month (the 4 years). They also where giving me $2,000 less for my trade, and while I was almost done with the contract, I noticed 2 items I did not ask for, 1 was $799 for tinted windows? and another $799 for GAP insurance (which I have insurance).. so in all honesty if you added up it was $30,500.. I walked away..
So, the one I settled for had everything I was looking for, the only downside is that it has 14,000 miles more than I wanted, the only reason I got it was because it was certified until 4/2015...

There's nothing magical about 30,000 miles on the odo; it's just your own arbitrary number, and 44,000 is no big deal. Your post says you got "everything you wanted" - why the remorse? You have CPO thru 4/15; relax and enjoy your purchase.

Thanks, I appreciate that, its just that it really is like taking a year off the car.. I just like putting miles in my cars. So it would be hard to get rid of it..

WOW LADIES AND GENTLEMAN.. look what happened to me!
So, this morning im going through all my paperwork from the car I bought last night, and I wanted to "recertify" exactly when my CPO warranty expired, supposedly April 2015.
So i called BMW corporate and they stated "Sir, this vehicle is NOT a Certified Pre Owned vehicle".....
Im like "what???", "something must be wrong, I may have read my VIN incorrectly to you"..."I have a copy in my hand, through Carfax, that states this vehicle is a Certified Pre Owned Vehicle, good until April 2015"
They put 2 other people on the line, and then the "dealer" where BMW Corporate sold the car to, they asked me to walk over to the car and read the VIN from the actual car... I did..... "Sorry to inform you sir, this vehicle has never been Certified Pre Owned"....
OOO WOW!!, so this was at 7:00am this morning, I wrote 2 checks last night at 9:00pm to the dealer I was buying the car from... I went directly over there with the print outs of everything...
They didnt even argue, they gave me back my 2 checks and returned my trade... ????? this happened to me 3 times this month!!!
ITS FREAKING INSANITY! oh my God
I just read reports that even an attorney got "screwed" wow I never knew that the Certified Pre Owned Program has its "catches" and "stipulations"..
For any one out there, be extra careful when buying a BMW that supposedly is "CPO", its not CPO, until BMW NA "Certifies it in writing - without 'pending' status in full"
I was very lucky to get my money back and unravel my mess!

Carfax is not gospel. Was this through a BMW dealer? If so, avoid them in the future. The generous trade-in they gave you versus the other deals you had AND on a supoosed CPO vehicle was a flag.

Wow, your right, when he gave me almost full blue book on my trade, I was wow...
I left a link there and I googled this, and this has happened to so many people I feel so sad for them..
Also, they even called BMW service centers and they said "yes its Certified" but it was in the "process" of being certified if it met 2 conditions once it leaves their lot:
1. That the vehicle was sold from a "Authorized BMW Dealer"
2. That the vehicle was sold to an "Individual" at an "Authorized BMW Dealer"
So it means, that even though its in pre-"CPO" status in the computer, once the vehicle gets sold in Auction without ever first been sold to an individual it loses the "CPO" status completely.
So it goes to show us, that you have to get complete "Proof in writing, from BMW Corporate" that the vehicle is in "CPO Active" status, not in "CPO Pending" status.

Point of interest: I once bought a used Porsche from an individual who claimed that it was covered under CPO. Before the final transaction took place, I verified the CPO and the car was not covered. The seller went nuts, and it turned out that the dealer had screwed-up the paperwork, never sent it in. They did, I bought the car, and actually had a service visit under CPO and all was fine.
So it's not just BMW dealers that do this, although in this case it was just a clerical error, not fraud like the OP's story appears to be. And the Porsche CPO covers more stuff, no deductible, and I got a loaner.
Moral of the story: buy a Porsche. :D

Well Guys, I think I mean I know God is good to me, Im so grateful, you guys are not going to believe it....
So after a couple of months after this happened I started looking at the 3 series convertibles again, because i had to change my tires on my X5, it has the same tires on it, since 2004 lol, can you believe it?
My mechanic told me that I also have to replace the two front axles, and may need to do a transmission fluid tune up?? what ever that means. Anyways for the front tires and axles it was going to be like $2600....
So I got an email from the local dealer here, you wont believe it, they had a brand new 328i Convertible, Alpine white, black interior, everything like I wanted with a $8,000 discount off MSRP(to make way for the 2013's), plus BMW loyalty of $750, they also gave me the same for my trade!! basically I got the same car like above, NEW, with 4 year warranty, 0 maintenance, lower monthly payment??? i am so freaking happy!!
