Curious what you set your rear spring perch on...I have a set of springs I've been sitting on and I'm considering installing them next week.

I assume springs are used or NOS since I could not find any to replace my SLS system with. I got the 535 short red m-techs which are actually Eibachs but used HD and not sports. There was only one perch choice that would work. I guess one criteria for the perch you want depends on how low you want the car to sit.

Middle setting on my car. Montreal roads are flagitious and regrettably ingravescent.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am trying to get educated. I've got Eibach springs and Bilstein sports on my car, 85 M635, but they were on there when I bought her.
Are there options of where or how high/low the springs are mounted or is this a question related to replacing an SLS system with spring/strut?
Just trying to understand.
Thanks,
Eric

Bingo. Taylor refresh my memory, what size wheel/tire are you running? Oh and picture of your shark please! Thank you.

Eric, yes the shock body is grooved allowing the lower spring perch to be adjusted.

Dan,
I have them on my 535i, second from the top... I like the height as it's not too low/saggy in the back. I'm happy with them:

I would not be concerned about other's settings since it is quite easy to change the height settings with everything installed and the rear wheels on the car. Get a 4-foot long piece of 2x6, and cut a notch in one end to surround the shock. Jack the car up to the point where the shock is fully extended. With the assistance of another person, the spring can be compressed by levering the 2x6 on the top of the tire. That will allow the clip to be easily changed to another groove.

Steve while not concerned I would rather see what others have theirs set at prior, particularly since I would prefer to set it right the first time. I've adjusted my rears since going from 16x9's to 17x10's but find it pretty logical to see others cars prior to deciding on a setting...savy? Thanks for the info though.

I also have mine set in the second groove from the top; gives the car an ever-so-slightly "nose down" attitude, which I prefer.

i was playing with this yesterday. (bil/RD combo) had it on the lowest setting, but changed to the setting low enough not to compress the spring but as the same time not let the spring flop around when fully extended, sacrificed a good bit of ride height :( by raising it 2 perch levels.
my question is to those on the lowest, are you concerned about being at full compression of the shock all the time and it maybe bottoming out ?
