Since I've had the car, the header panel has been hanging. PO sold the car halfway through a sunroof motor replacement job. The two clips that once held it up are shot and have fallen off. I stiffened up the formerly bent header panel with some masonite and 3m adhesive.

Is there an easy way to reattach this piece either with or without the factory clips?

I just redid the headliner on my car and decided to build an entire plywood backer panel rather than stick to the design atrocity of original hung by random wire hangers and pulling fabric around every edge.:rolleyes

As far as the header I had the same problem.I simply drilled 2 small hole through and into the bent metal tabs on the roof so that the front of the panel could be screwed up.works fine and black screws arent obvious.

Man o man do I hate interior work on these cars!!

I took liquid nails and glued the clips back on and have had no problems for 3 years. I am sure epoxy or whatever will work as well. The clips do have a "tongue" in them that slides into the brackets on the roof itself. If you are missing these they are dealer available at $3-$4.

I repaired the clips and recovered mine:
