Long story short I bought a used hood release cable and the mechanisms, and it appears the main cable is too long. Its about 2-3 inches longer than the one from my car, and it has a nut type thing towards the end, where my cable did not have anything.
On pelican parts it lists one cable for all, but there appears to be two difference ones.

Can anyone confirm?

The extra length shouldn't matter. It weaves its way through the body so an extra 2-3" wont mean anything. It should have a clip/nut/fitting on the end that fits/screws into the end of the short cable. That short cable attaches the two latches so when you pull the cable it pulls both at the same time.

Oh, I see. I was thinking it wouldnt work for some reason.
The nut thing is on the end that goes into the lever mechanism under the dash. I don't see how it will fit into my lever thing, but I can probably get the nut thing off and fit it in.
Thank you

You need to use it EXACTLY as it came. Take the handle off your car. Take the trim piece off and that whole assembly is under the trim piece. That gear looking thing is for the handle to go onto. Attach your old cable to the new one and slowly pull it through. The rubber bushing is a pain to deal with

I accidentally pulled the old one out and now I'm stuck trying to fish the new one through . I have no idea where the passage ways are to get it down to where it needs to come out.
Any suggestions?
Is there a picture or diagram somewhere that shows what is on the inside of the body panels there?

You may need to take off the fender to feed it through, its a pain but its easy to see once the fender is off.

I got it somehow, without taking the fender off.
