Hey folks,

I found a thread on another forum, were a guy is selling an add on "L" bracket to reinforce and or repair the pedal box, for E24.E28,E30.

It comes in 2 different thicknesses 3/16 inch or 1/4 inch.

I costs $30.00 / $35.00 respectively. Shipping included USA. Add $3.00 for Canada.

No affiliation.

The new bracket does'nt cost much more and mine had cracks at several other points that this repair bracket cannot address. Looks like a band-aid on an amputation to me.

I could be wrong, but this seems to me to be intended as a preventaive fix for a known weak spot rather than a repair. Increasing the structural stiffness of the pedal box and distributing the stress should help avoid the stress fractures that seem to be the issue. For $30 and 15 min install seems a good idea to avoid a major headache later on. Just ordered for my (so far pedal box crack free) 6er.

As a preventive, I believe it would be a good product to install.
