Ive always read mixed advises on timing chains and guides so I was wondering what you all thought with a car with 180k miles on it. Some are stating to change it others state it will out last the car. What about the guides?

Ill be doing a comp check on all cylinders prior to installation of the charger. Ill probably wont mess with the head gasket for now and was wanting to bolt it up and have fun with it. Wanting to boost around 8 - 10. Got bigger injectors, aftercooler, oil cooler, aluminum radiator, etc and current setup I believe is 8psi for boost. Was thinking of stepping up the crank pulley later down the line.

Anyways back to the car, it has about 180k as stated. Was a primary car for years to work, back, out and about, etc and than become my secondary car now. Im the second owner since 98. Ill be doing the basics, spark plugs, vanos rebuild, new tensioner, oil change, cooling fluids, thermostat, etc.

Ill probably do a rebuild of the motor later down the line but dont want to mess with it as of right now as its still running strong and I dont have the time nor the space at this moment to do a complete rebuild on the motor.

Would like to get some feedback on what you all thought??? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Sounds like you are on the right path.

I put in a AA C38 kit on my car at 120k and did ALL the basics and a few more than I didn't see coming.

If you track the car or don't have an intercooler you will have to do the hg with some arp 2000's soon after the install.
