I just wanted to write up a little review about the war chip as I know many of you consider the Miller software as a tuning option.
Last year the setup I was on allowed the base map to work wonderfully and I got a lot of great driving on the setup. When Dan form Miller came out to CO to try and switch me to ID1000's and E85, unfortunately some parts in the engine let go so we never got the maps complete.
This year, I changed to an MLS headgasket (.140") and decided to run some more boost (19psi vs 12psi). Getting into the efficiency range of the turbo, I quickly realized it flows a LOT more than a 35R and the base tune was lean. Emailing Brody it only took 2 revised maps for them to really get it spot on and land the AFR's right where I wanted them. All this without a log (Our LM2 took a crap :/).
Over the weekend, I decided if I want to get the most out of this season, I'm going to need some sort of Launch control. Now, you can setup an actual 2-Step setup by wiring in the Clutch switch to the map changer to run a map with very retarded timing while the clutch is depressed.
Before I dug into wiring it all in, I decided to try out the Launch Control in the Miller program. Insanely easy to use and turn on. In Vacuum I was launching at 6500 on the slicks last year. I decided to set the launch control at 5600 and see what happens. Amazingly without a 2-Step map, just bouncing off the limiter the car builds 7-9 psi for launch very quickly!
Driving the car is awesome. I have given quite a few people rides in the car, and every single one of them including myself, are completely amazed at how smooth the tune is. No sputtering, cutting out or feeling of a choppy pull. It's buttery smooth through the entire RPM band.
I hope that after reading this, that those people on the fence about using the WAR chip, are persuaded to go with the Miller setup, as I am very happy with their system, and have had nothing but great customer service with them.
