Just got my 335 and first one delivered by dealer. There is a fabric covering the underbody. Anyone know what it is. Our sales rep had no clue.

Yes it is. It also has some plastic parts similar to previous 335. This on my new car does not appear to be very strong material.

Those are called splash shields or aero panels. They are light and inexpensive because they are a sacrificial piece.

My cousin is a certified BMW mechanic and he says it is to dampened sound. Like road noise and rocks hitting the bottom of the car.

Sounds right. Some Mercs have them too.
