I'm looking for a stock Harmon Kardon Cassette Head Unit that is compatible with the stock 6 disc changer in my '98 M3's trunk. My HK stereo head unit's display is getting incredibly light and can harldy be seen. (does anyone know a quick cheap fix for this instead of purchasing another HK cassette deck?)
I've see a bunch of C33 decks for sale, but I'm looking specifically for the unit which came with the Harmon Kardon stereo from BMW.
email me at ghchiu@yahoo.com
if you have one for sale
Thanks

The HK and non HK cars use the same radio. As far as a cheap fix for the display, it is a bitch to get to. I do have a perfect C33 with the code cards and manual I will sell for $130 shipped. You can also find them cheap on ebay but often they have the dim display.
Email me if interested. Thanks!

I called BMW and the part number for the Stereo deck is
# 65-12-8-380-234
and it is indeed the same part as the regular deck...
However the Stereo deck was changed between 97 and 98 model e36 cars. So, I'd require a 98' and above deck with a working display (no flickering, or intermittent brightness/dimness). Anyone got one?
I've found that the only difference between the HK system and the regular one is the AMP and Speakers. By the way, I've replied via email to several peoples.
Thanks everybody.
