So my wife's countryman has a rather noisy engine. I didn't notice it until about 6 weeks ago. Took it to the shop for that and also because it shifted rather roughly.
The shop took care of the shifting: it's smooth again. However the engine is still very loud. Sounds like it's coming from the valve train. It's a loud clicking sound. We were advised to "put more oil in" when it starts making the sound.
I keep the oil topped off myself. I check it about every other weekend (since I don't drive it often...). Adding oil really never changed the sound. It's typically worse when it's cold outside.
So the question is: for 2011 N/A minis: is the sound normal? Do all of you have the same problem?
