What is the major differences between these 2? I am looking into upgrading into a big brake kit and need some info and opinions from the brake experts out there...

no expert here but:
the 996 caliper is the new brembo monoblock design - stiffer
the 993 TT caliper is the older design caliper but I believe it uses larger pistons (don't quote me on that).
I am using 996 Carrera C2 calipers up front and the matching rears in the back on my car. perfectly balanced setup and the pedal feel is awesome. 16 pistons total on my factory master cylinder and I have NO excess pedal travel and modulation is very easy.
there is a central jersey meet on the 20th of next month, show up and I'll let you take my car for spin to try it for yourself.
