Went to change diff. and trans. sluid the other day. Diff went just fine. Moved on to the transmission and I couldn't get the plug off. It looks like it's lock-tited in place. Any tips for getting it off??

not sure about the bolt, but are u aware of that u should also change the filter in the tranny? even though the dealershits say that u never have to, b.s.

not sure which one you have but the manual trans doesn't use a filter. it's not loctited on (shouldn't be) but it maybe seized. try using some wd40 or other penetrator to help you loosen the bolt.

are you trying this with the trans hot or cold?

a breaker bar should help. I remember mine felt like there was some sort of adhesive on the threads too, but three pulls on the breaker bar loosened the bolt enough so that i could get a 1/2 drive socket to do the rest.

The general consensus is to use Redline D4ATF, but it can be difficult to locate. I was about to use Mobil 1 until i found a local race shop that carried the Redline.

Good Luck.

Already have the redline. Put that in the differential too. Local shop stocks it. What's a breaker bar? I slid a 10" section of pipe over my wrench for more leverage and it still didn't budge. I'll have to try some WD-40.
I've never heard of a filter for the transmission. Sure you're not thinking about the engine?
Thanks.

a breaker bar is basically a long bar - socketed - that is used for leverage. your 10" pipe is basically the same thing but much shorter.

Ok. I'll check out the local auto stores.
Thanks for the help!
