Like the title says.. every few hundred miles my power steering fluid is turning black.. I replaced the hoses and cleaned the filter a few times already. So what else could it be? The pump? Or the rack? Any help would be appreciated.

Fluid could be eating away at the hoses.

It just breaks down as it gets hot and cool and is used over and over.
Ur using red atf right? Should get dirty not black

Did you replace the power steering reservoir too? It has a filter built into it. I wonder if that might be causing the issue?

No I just flushed the reservoir a few times with parts cleaner and re-installed it.. do you think the filter is breaking down?
If you do all the lines you should do the reservoir too.

Yep, it's what you're supposed to do. I can't say for certain whether it would help but a new reservoir is like $25 so I think it is worth a shot.
