What could make a seatbelt retractor loud when reeling in / letting out belt? Sound is coming from inside the retractor, sounds like a ratchet.
Does it need to be replaced?
EDIT: WD-40 Fixes Everything. I opened up the B pillar, removed the retractor, unwound the belt fully, and sprayed WD40 into every crevice i could manage. On the 'less bulky' side, there's a little opening at the edge of the retractor pulley where I sprayed loads of WD40 into the mechanical bits. It's totally silent now.
Can post pictures if anyone wants them.
