View Full Version : RALLYROAD.NET ...M50 High flow fuel rail for high horsepower or E85 cars.
I'm sure a lot of people have already seen this on our Facebook page, but in about one week we will have a production version of our M50 billet fuel rail available for sale.
The ends of the rail are tapped for -8 o-ring fittings. You have a choice of 6AN, 8AN, and 10AN inlet or outlet fittings. Fittings are available in black or blue and are included with the fuel rail.
Fittings are included with the fuel rail. If you want the 90 degree fittings instead of straight fittings, they are slightly more in price.
Initial pricing is set at $189.95
http://www.rallyroad.net/content/high-flow-billet-fuel-rail
The fuel rail is only for the M50 intake manifold. Yes, we could have made it fit the M52 intake manifold, but honestly...if you are buying this fuel rail, you should have already swapped the M52 intake manifold for the M50 version.
Here's a quick rendering of the production fuel rail. Inlet and outlet fittings are included...just not pictured in the rendering.

Eric do you have any beefy brackets to fit a obd2 fuel rail on a m50 obd1 intake mani?

How are the injectors held in on the rail?
SiGmA

It appears they're held in via compression against manifold. That is how most all aftermarket rails are manufactured, that is how my rail is.

My comment was referring to the milling away of the "in between" material. Probably not important to most but I find it handy to put a 1/8 NPT fuel pressure sender, fuel temp sensor, wet nitrous feed, etc., right at the fuel rail which you will be unable to since the material is removed. It limits you in terms of flexibility though it does look nice.

Correct. With many injectors the rail keeps them in place. Some smaller body injectors with adapters will need a small spacer to hold them firmly in place.
For my ID1000 type injectors, we had to make a small spacer so the injector would not seat too deeply in the intake manifold and create a fuel or boost leak. This same spacer would have also been required if using the stock fuel rail.

Other ID1000 injectors I have seen do not need any kind of a spacer. I guess it depends on where you buy the Bosch EV14 injectors and what type of adapters they have.
Mallman has received his fuel rail today so he may have some pictures for us soon. His injectors are very similar to mine, but did not need a spacer of any kind.

Any chance for a GB and is there any chance you are working on a install sleeve for the walbro 400 or have your dual pump hanger ready?

He doesn't have a sleeve for the walbro 400 on his website. Just one for an Aeromotive 340. Does he have one for the walbro 400 now, but just not talking about it?

Check the dimensions as I think they are both very close.
Also, look at the real testing of both pumps. There are several reasons why I went with dual aeromotives ...

Dual pump hanger is almost ready for a production run. It will hold two Walbro 400's. We have had to delay a few new things because regular production parts had run out of stock. I'll try to get some pictures of an assembled prototype this week to show what it will look like.

Sounds great Eric. Any chance on a GB for the fuel rails? Also wondering if you can offer them with banjo fittings to get a lower profile and not interfere with the CCV?

A banjo fitting, by design, will SEVERELY limit flow. If you need this fuel rail due to fuel volume requirements, you do not want to restrict it with a fitting like that.
I'll check on the threads required for a banjo fitting...at least on the front side.
Holding off on possibility of a group buy for now. One issue with a group buy is that people find the thread a year or two from now and want the same pricing.

If I was going to run a banjo I was going to run it on the outlet side only for that reason and run a -10 banjo even though the return would only be -6.
Would something like this be a better option? Imagine that the fitting is welded onto the rail.

It might be alright on the front of the rail since we feed the rear side. You are right though...I can't say for sure if it will be an option.

Sorry for bumping this thread. I was looking at your build thread and saw this thread so I figured I would ask.

I run mine opposite - feed the front unrestricted to the restricting fitting on the rear.

If it's the outlet, not the inlet, as long as you can keep your base fuel pressure in check, it will work (meaning it will flow enough at idle to prevent unregulated spikes in pressure). I was thinking you were feeding it with the banjo.

I currently run mine with the feed to the front, but if I went with a banjo on the front I would feed from the rear.

The question to ask if you can actually run an unrestricted fitting on the rear without firewall interference. I can't, but I have different packing restraints. I have a few different options when I clean up the fuel system in the car, but I think that I'll always need to feed forward first.

Sorry for the slight OT and this (dumb) question. But, in obd1 cars in the feed in the front or rear? I always thought it was the front, or before the FPR.

All cars feed from before the FPR. So wherever the FPR is in the flow, the inlet is ahead of that. So yeah, on OBD1 they feed from the front.

That's what I thought. I guess that I was getting confused when Eric said he feeds from the rear. Obviously, I forgot that he would run an aftermarket FPR.

Yep my -10 feeds from the rear as well.
