Guys,
I just got a set of Brembo sport drilled rotors for my 1999 E46 (thanks Tire Rack!) but now I need a step by step guide on how to put them on. I'd like to try this myself rather than go to a shop, if I can. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Oh I also got new pads the Greenstuff ones.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Jack the car up and remove the wheel
Remove the anti-rattle clip, use a screwdriver and pry the middle section toward the center of the caliper.
Use the screwdriver to pry the caliper apart enough for it to clear the groove on the rotor, if it has one.
Remove the two black plastic covers on the caliper bolts
Use a 7mm hex bit to remove both caliper bolts and remove caliper.
Remove the caliper bracket bolts, they are 16mm and will be pretty tight.
There will be a small bolt holding the rotor to the hub, use a 6mm (I think) hex bit to remove it, careful not to strip it out.
If the rotor doesn't come free use a hammer to help persuade it, don't be scared to hit it hard.

Instalation is the reverse, you will have to use a C-clamp or a big pair of adjustible pliers to force the caliper piston back into the caliper so the new brake pads will fit.

To push piston back into recess I was able to do it with my fingers using the old pad.
First I checked fluid level at reservoir to make sure there would be no spillage due to overflow. Level doesn't rise much. Almost imperceptible in my case.
You can use a c-clamp or vise grips if you like. Just be careful not to let it slip from piston.

Hojo,
The step by step was great  it was a snap with the info you posted. Other than a sticky bolt it went fast and all your sizes for the tools was accurate. The piston went back in quick with a clamp, thanks Baltazarr.
If I can do a brake swap with these instructions anyone can :)

Thanks again guys,
Bob

No problem, when you do it four or five times a week it's kind of like second nature.
