bump up for an excellent seller.
I've purchased before and always had an excellent experience. nothing but top notch parts.
BTW, you're probably wondering what happened to my e46 motorsports build. well...since it used to belong to Automatic Racing, it had a hard life, understandably. I looked at the quarter panels, rocker panels, alignment of the rear and it was off. It's a race car, so I could have left well enough alone. I didn't. I reskinned the back half with a perfect body. No dents, perfectly aligned and looks like a new body. Almost time for paint!!!

Why dont you throw a sequential in already? .... U have everything else.
I can hook you up with a nice Drenth DG400 or DG500 (depending on the torque your making).

How much do you think a setup like this will put down?!
kjb374
05-20-2012, 01:27 PM
325 to 330 RWP depending on your exhaust and how you route your intake. However, the equally important factor is the fact that the internals are very light weight. Although, this does not add power, it does make the motor spool up quicker which in turn makes the car faster.

Hello kjb374, Is there any chance you could tell me how to find, and download the "BMW German Group A racing catalogue". I am at my wits end trying to find it anywhere, hope you can help.
Cheers,
Marty

Here you go........Keep in mind, there are only 4 or 5 dealers in the country that can sell you these parts.

Not sure on that question. I would assume so.

I have an E30 M3 GrpA catalog if you need one (actually 2).
This would be a pretty sick GTS4 motor. I wonder what the torque curve looks like.

With the VANOS, it becomes very interesting to say the least. This little 3 liter will give corvettes and other V8's a run for their money out of the corners! The light weight internals also make it even more interesting. I never realized how how critical this was until I saw video of race cars with V8 LS6 motors accelerate and how slow they rev in comparison. No joke! Rotating mass is your enemy!

They are also developing 300+ torque at 3000 rpm.

My E46 turbo M52 2.8L at 8psi does that :)

This is an endurance race motor; long life, low heat and long hours of operation on a race track. Your motor = turbo lag, a slug out of the corners, high heat = low reliability = kablamo = losing the race = replacing it with a real motor (mine)! Look at it this way; you can own a Patek Philippe or a Timex. Which one would you prefer? Cheers! :D

I was replying to his LS comment, not comparing to your motor.
As an FYI, my motor has essentially zero turbo lag, instant torque from 3200-6800rpm (feels like a V8), i ran it for 90 minutes in 90degree heat without any heat soak. Turbo's when set up properly are as reliable as any NA built motor...just look at all the prototypes and oem cars these days, FI is more efficient, more controllable, and at the end of the day more cost effective. Tuned by Neel@ApexSpeedTech of course.
For the specific class, your euro motor will be killer though. Close ratio 6spd sequential would go nicely with it! I have someone in mind i'm trying to get to take your motor, will let you know.
And I'll take Girard-Perregaux thank you ;) lol

That's Jimmy Bobby (disasterman) chiming in LOL. He's a contender on the race track! Maybe he'll post some of his build pics on this forum.....???
Nice taste in waches!! I will agree that they are considerably more cost effective, and better bang for the buck. I just have seen bad outcomes over the long term with turbos (especially with wiring dialectric). I would gather, much more impressive outcomes with lower boost pressures (lower heat) like yours of course. I saw you had a Motec ECU; Makes a huge difference in reliability. I have an M880. Fantastic control but not easily affordable. Nice buld thread BTY!! Cheers!

Yep, definitely was not built for max hp...just consderavtive solid turbo setup that has torque to scoot. I have M800 series as well, got it from Neel (was a 2nd hand ecu actually, got a great deal) and flew him in to tune it. Car is for sale right now actually :)

I'm willing to work on price. Keep in mind that a motor like this would cost over $20,000 to build given the parts instaled on it!
