One of my mounting bolts ended up cracking one of the bolt sockets on the triangle section of the mirror, cheap metal fatigue.:mad

Mirrors are oem btw ( already have mirror rot on them too to boot and they are not that old...)

I need to replace the drivers side mounting plate, where can I find one ( they do exist and the oem mirrors do split into two parts)

I don't wanna replace the whole mirror with the cup section. I ended up removing the mirror and crimping the bolt socket with pliers. It still holds with the bolt put in more loosely but in the back of my mind its going to bother me now.

Anyone have a spare mirror triangle plate they are willing to part with?

Its a frigging JOKE! I don't over torque shit. Pass side went on fine, tightened by hand.

Drivers side, the bolt closes to the window decides to split its holder with a nice crack and basically sheers.

WTF. the wiring in the pass mirror was rusted too, I had to run the stock wire out of my stock mirror to the motor.

The glass is starting to rot.

These are OEM 2 yr olds.... I swear i should of bought ddm tuning. I am contemplating selling them and getting reps. FUCK THIS, especially when you consider the baseplate now has to be replaced because its going to drive me nuts ( can't find one) and the glass will need to be soon too.

Wow...I took my m3 mirrors off to paint the base of them black n they went back on no trouble no cracks...the metal base plate was pretty impressive to me I expected plastic

Sounds like you didn't have the rubber seal under the mirrors if your connector is rusted...mine looked new even had the foam insulation

I only dropped one of the bolts into my door panel :facepalm

Just replace the pair if the base is busted not worth it to hunt for a mirror base no one has

Yeah i was in tears LOL. Over it now, it still holds i guess what others can't see, won't be an issue. The PO winter drove so thats where the damage accumulated to the base.

I found one on ebay.de, waiting to see if the seller will ship to canada, if so, alls good, if not , maybe someone on bfc has a busted mirror with a good base.

I do infact!

Sedan and Ti are the same.

Coupe and Convertible are the same.

The cups are the same for the whole line, but the baseplates are as above. If you can score baseplates , you can change willynilly
