Do I need spacers?
I just got my dforce rims delivered. They are 8.5 wide. I have a 1998 m3. I held up the front ones and it is right up against my shock. Did anyone else run into this?

Spacers on the front are very typical when running wider wheels. Tire size obviously has a great effect as well.

I keep 12mm spacers on the front of my 99 whether I'm running the 8.5" DSII 245/40s or 9" SSRs with 255/40s.

Longer studs or bolts may be needed.

If it's rubbing it's the wrong offset

I'm running 15s on my 17x8.5 SSRs ET44 with ASTs but you may only need 3-10mm spacers. I have a set of front hub extenders by VAC if you're interested. They're necessary for 3, 5, 7.5, 8, 10mm non-hub centric spacers. Good luck!

3 wont be enough.

10mm was even enough on my M so I bought a 12mm spacer.

Stock suspension?

I have 12mm but would suggest 15 spacer.

I have D force ltw5s in 9"x18" and I use 10mm and its just enough to clear stock strut housings. I wish I could use 5mm but wouldn't clear 255 tires.
