As the title says, I'm looking to replace my engine coolant temperature sensor and it's not in an easy to reach place.
What method do you guys recommend to get this out (and reinstalled) the easiest? The replacement sensor is a 20mm but the OEM one looks like it may be smaller.
Any tips on replacing this? I really dont want to mess with removing the intake manifold or anything crazy to get to it.
Thanks
EDIT *Meant to reply, it merged my posts*:
Well, if anyone else looks for this same thing, it ended up being relatively easy. I posted before I tried, just in case there were any tips.
Anyway, I just removed the airbox and the vanos return hose that goes to the CCV and was able to fit a small crescent wrench in under the manifold. Luckily I was able to get enough leverage to break the torque. From there I could take out the sensor with my hands.
Anyway, good luck to anyone else that needs to do this, it fixed my rough cold-starts.
